As the Command Sergeant Major of the 2n/417th Regiment I was very proud to know Bob, he was a dedicated and motivated soldier. Even after retirement of the 76th Division Bob continued showing his dedication by attending our annual reunion.

My sincere condolences to Paula & the family . I've known and been friends with Bob since 9Th grade , we had not seen much of each other since other since high school until I decided to attend a class reunion in 2010 our 45th . I was mingling around with people when I heard someone call my name , I turned around and there stood Bob with a big ole Smile on his face , we shook hands and had a brief Bro hug and started to catch-up . We both had sports coats on with some lapel pins on , Bob noticed my Purple Heart pin & several others . I in turn saw that he had some military pins on his lapel one in particular Bob was very proud of and ask me if I knew what it represented ? I said sure it tells me you were member of the Cadre on a Drill instructors Team . Boy !!!! I want to tell you Bobs face lite up he was so round I knew what it meant and that he was at one time a D I !!!!! I'll never forget that smile that is how I will always remember Bob proud and smiling
