Robert Lindsay "Bob, Bobby" Logan

Jewett City - Robert Lindsay "Bob" Logan, of Ashland Street, Jewett City, passed away peacefully Saturday, Sept. 30, 2023, at 71 years young. Born in Westerly, he was the son of the late Robert Benedict and Albina Jane (Orlando) Logan.

It became apparent at an early age that Bob was blessed with a deep connection to nature. Many animals were drawn to him and benefited from Bobby's keen eye and gentle hands. His serene nature was never more apparent than when he was seen with his "pet" deer Gailey, a wild and timid deer who was completely at ease in Bob's presence. Also affectionately known as "Captain Bob," he was one with the sea. An experienced fisherman who spent many years working on fishing boats and as a guide on corporate yachts, he instructed and entertained many.

With Bobby's many skills, he worked an array of jobs throughout his life. From Ortronics with his cousin and best friend Steve Orlando, to Electric Boat for 10 years (to the day), and also as a caretaker at the Lazy-O-Farm where he nurtured the plants and animals entrusted in his care. He was also an adept woodcrafter and furniture maker, spending his free time whittling wood in the presence of nature. Of the many things that he was known for, the thing that stood out the most about him was his enormous heart. Bobby was always a true gentleman who wanted nothing but happiness for those around him. He was a "one-of-a-kind" man who will be missed by all who loved him.

He was predeceased by his older brother Michael Logan Sr. of Charleston, R.I. He leaves behind his six siblings: Kevin Logan, Terrence Logan (Debby), Patricia Logan and Sandra Logan, all of Pawcatuck, and Linda Logan of Westerly, R.I., and Christine Logan of Sunshine Beach, Australia; as well as his nieces and nephews: Michael Logan Jr. (Carsten, Damien and Scarlet) of North Stonington, Melissa Morrenzoni (Scott, Luke, Austin and Michael) of Hermitage, Tenn., Seth Logan (Ella) of Westerly, R.I., "Mama" Emily Logan (Quentin and Sarah Grace) of Pawcatuck, Lindsay Fair (Matt, Willa and Taylor) of Johnstown, R.I., Andrew Logan (Lianne, Adam and Madison) of Portsmouth, R.I., and Kennedy Logan of Westerly, R.I. He was also predeceased by his nephew Peter Logan of Pawcatuck.

The Logan family would like to publicly thank Teddy McMahon for everything that he has done for our beloved Bobby. The loyalty and dedication that he showed to his good friend truly increased his comfort and was undoubtedly essential in extending his quality of living these past few years. We would also like to acknowledge the Orlando family for the roles that they played in Bobby's life over the years. We appreciate all that you have done for Bobby and recognize how valuable you were to him and thank you for that.

Per Bobby's wishes, services will be held privately. A Celebration of Life for friends and family will be held at a later date.
