Robert McPherson Obituary
After leaving the Armed Services, he returned to southeastern Connecticut, where he married Barbara Pasqualini May 20, 1972, at St. Joseph's Church in New London. Together they raised two sons in East Lyme, Michael, currently of East Lyme, and John, who lives in Los Angeles, Calif.
Robert worked as an engineer and analyst for major utilities, including Stone & Webster and Northeast Utilities (now Eversource), throughout the country and abroad, for over 40 years.
He was predeceased by his sisters, Nancy and Faith; and his brother Dennis. He is survived by Barbara, his beloved wife of 53 years; two sons; daughters-in-law, Jocelynn and Tina; and five grandchildren: Logan, Leighton, Maika, Landon and Zackary.
His family will receive relatives and friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 10, at the Impellitteri-Malia Funeral Home, 84 Montauk Avenue, New London. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 11, in St. Joseph's Church, 149 Montauk Avenue, New London. Entombment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery Mausoleum with military honors. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Smilow Cancer Research Center.
