Robert Trenchard "Bob" Ramsdell

Mystic - Robert "Bob" Trenchard Ramsdell, 56, passed away Thursday, Feb. 15, 2024, surrounded by family and lots of love after a long battle with prostate cancer. He was born Nov. 3, 1967, in Springfield, Mass., but spent most of his life in Mystic.

He leaves behind his sons, Robert T. Ramsdell III and Jack Ramsdell; in addition to his love, Tracy Paterson. He is also survived by his mother Judith Ramsdell; his sisters, Kimberly Freemer and Kathleen Ramsdell and her wife Amy Roth; daughter-in-law Kellyn Wagner Ramsdell; his partner's children, Finn and Issy Paterson; and his sisters' children, Jo Freemer, Corey Roth-Ramsdell, and Kevin Roth-Ramsdell.

Bob was a passionate man who made people feel seen and heard in everything he did. He gave the best hugs and had the best smile. Some of his favorite things in life were going to concerts, skiing, hiking and organizing family vacations like a Grand Canyon rafting expedition. Bob had a gift for bringing people together, whether it be the Hash House Harriers or his Steelers family at Angie's Pizza. Among his many gifts, Bob was a talented and dedicated cybersecurity engineer who protected companies like Raytheon, Pfizer, Verisign and NLC Insurance across his career.

His family will receive family and friends from 3 to 4 p.m. Friday, Feb. 23, at the Mystic Funeral Home located on Route 1 (51 Williams Avenue) in Mystic, followed by a service of remembrance at 4 p.m. at the funeral home.
