I enjoyed my visits with Bob. He had a great wood working shop where he made bird houses for me. He also showed me how to make a bamboo fly rod.

Mary,
Our sympathy to you and your family. My time with Bob rod building and watching Jeopardy then having lunch with you was wonderfull. Bob was on of the kindest and most generous friends I have known. We hope you take comfort that his is not suffering.

Bob Walsh is one of the finest gentlemen I have ever met and will miss him dearly. I was fortunate to meet Bob about 11+ years ago at a Trout Unlimited meeting where I discovered he was fine fly tyer, fly fisher and bamboo fly rod maker. Always wanting to learn how to make a bamboo fly rod from scratch he offered to teach me for a fee... a ham & cheese sandwich lunch each time we met at his workshop! How could I pass up that deal when a bamboo class I was considering in Maine cost well over a $1000 or more. I love the experience so much I ended up making four bamboo rods under his tutelage. Stealing a quote from Bogart in Casablanca, " (Bob), I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship." Especially, when it came to fly fishing and fly tying. Over the years we held many fly-tying classes for TU and at local libraries and a few fly-casting classes too. It was joy for us to pass on something we both enjoyed and loved... but it will not be the same without my partner and wonderful friend.
Bob, I know you will be enjoying fishing and catching many "Big Willie´s" in Heaven´s trout waters...
