Robert Wininger Obituary
Robert was born in Preston, on July 26, 1930. He was the son of the late Fredrick and Pauline Wininger.
He was a Korean War veteran having served with the Marine Corps. Following service to his country, he was employed as a civil servant working at the U.S. Naval Submarine Base in Groton before taking the position of general manager of Lisbon Textile where he worked for over 25 years.
A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, Robert enjoyed nothing more than spending time with his family at home in Norwich or at their summer home in Weekapaug, R.I.
He is survived by his loving wife, Carol; his four children, Lisa Siderewicz and her husband Stephen, Kyle Wininger and her partner, Malia Sieve; Kasey Wininger, and Robert Wininger Jr.; and his five grandchildren, Stephen Siderewicz Jr., Ali and Kate Wininger, and Taylor and Dylan Wininger-Sieve.
The funeral service will be private and will be held at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, please send donations in memory of Robert to the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society www.nmcrs.org.
