Roger Boyer Obituary

East Lyme - Roger Gerard Boyer, 68, of Niantic, passed away on Dec. 5, 2015, at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Roger was born on July 4, 1947, in Malone, N.Y., the son of the late Gerard and Marjorie (Lamica) Boyer.

Mr. Boyer served honorably in the U.S. Air Force and was retired from Millstone Power Station as an mechanical supervisor.

He is survived by his wife, Ellyn Boyer; a son, Roger Boyer of Ashland, N.H.; two brothers, Gregory Boyer of Belchertown, Mass., and Michael Boyer of Wilberham, Mass; five sisters, Angela Cortner of Key West, Fla., Eileen O'Sullivan of Springfield, Mass., Denise Brault of Kissimmee, Fla., Cecile Salas of Shippenville, Pa., and Jeannette Bucchieri of Windsor; and two grandchildren, Natalie and Anna Boyer.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 9, at Thomas L. Neilan & Sons Funeral Home, 48 Grand St., Niantic. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 10, at St. Agnes Church, Haigh Ave., Niantic. Interment with military honors will follow in East Lyme Cemetery, Boston Post Road, East Lyme.

Lynn and all of Roger's family - we extend our sincerest condolences. Roger was a smart, gentle, sweet and funny man. We were just blessed to have him celebrate with us at our son's wedding. We will all miss him. With love, his cousins, Mary Beth and Rob.

Roger will be missed by a lot of people. He was very outgoing is his personality and well liked by all the people at Millstone. I will miss him also.

He was a friend of my grandfather Ed. Roger and I had a few conversations over the years that I remember vividly, the last was at my grandfather's funeral a few months ago. He was sweet and kind. He will be missed.
