Ronald Flax Obituary

Falls Church, Va. - Ronald "Ron" Jay Flax passed away peacefully June 1, 2024, in his home in Falls Church, Va., after a courageous fight against cancer. Ron was born Oct. 24, 1961, to Robert and Judith Flax in Boston, Mass. He was the eldest sibling to Bruce Flax and Deborah (Flax) Pelletz.

He grew up in Framingham, Mass., graduated from Framingham North High School in 1979, and remained part of the "Spring Lane Family" long after he had moved away. Ron received his degree from Northeastern University and had a successful career as a data entry specialist. He had a long tenure working at the Pentagon and most recently, at the Alexander T. Augusta Military Medical Center. Ron was very proud of his work, and always enjoyed being in a collaborative setting.

Ron was a true Boston sports fan. He loved the Red Sox, Celtics, Bruins and Patriots through their best and their worst seasons. There were few things he cherished more than attending a sporting event with a friend or family. Right behind Ron's love of his home sports teams was his love for live music, especially Bruce Springsteen. Ron saw Bruce in concert dozens of times, and is the reason many of his friends and family also have an affinity for his music. Ron was a very talented improv comedian. He took classes as an adult and joined different performance groups. He loved any reason to make someone laugh.

Above all of Ron's talents and passions was his love for his family. Ron leaves behind 8 nieces and nephews, and was immensely proud of each and very one of them. Ron is preceded by his parents, Robert Flax and Judith (Jacobs) Flax. He leaves his legacy to his brother Bruce Flax; sister-in-law Kathy Flax and their children: Haley, Ben, Casey, Mae and Daimon; his sister Deborah (Flax) Pelletz, brother-in-law Andrew Pelletz and their children, Rebecca (Pelletz) Scalzo, Kayla and Macy.
