Osterman
POUGHKEEPSIE - Ronald P. Osterman, 56, passed away June 10, 2013 at home in Poughkeepsie.
He was born April 9, 1957 in Poughkeepsie, the son of the late Paul and Theresa Osterman. Ronald was a graduate of R.C. Ketcham High School and attended Dutchess Community College.
He was a Mail Carrier for the U.S. Post Office in Highland, NY.
He was a member of St. Peter's Church in Poughkeepsie and Fish Creek Park Association.
Ronald was an avid Yankees and Giants fan. Very active in sports, he was the past Commissioner of Hyde Park Baseball and also coached softball, baseball and soccer.
Ronald loved spending time in the Adirondacks, driving his Mustang and also enjoyed his guns.
He is survived by his daughter Kelly Osterman and his son Christopher Osterman both of Hyde Park, NY; sisters and brothers-in-law Suzanne & Dr. Daniel Meyer of Staatsburg, NY and Lynne & Carlo Miscedra of Hyde Park, NY; brother and sister-in-law Karl & Laura Osterman of Wappinger Falls, NY; sister Diane Sinon of Hyde Park, NY; nieces and nephews Aimee, Timothy, Matthew, Kara, Deidra, Theresa, Phillip, Paul and Eric.
In addition to his parents, Ronald was also predeceased by his nephew and godchild, Sean Sinon. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, June 13, from 3:00-8:00pm at Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home, Inc., 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY 12603.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, June 14 at 10:00am at Our Lady of the Rosary Chapel of St. Peter's Church, 229 Hudson View Dr., Poughkeepsie, NY 12601. Fr. James A. Garisto will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Peter's Cemetery.
Memorial donations in Ronald's name may be made to the Fish Creek HOA c/o Sharon Umber 4 Fox Hollow Drive Hamlin, NY 14464-9304.

Kelly and Chris, I was so sad the hear of dads passing. I learned too late or I would have expressed myself in person. He was a wonderful person, I knew him from working in Highland he often came to our auto repair shop to visit. I was also a Postal Employee so we compared notes about our job. He talked about you both often and I know you are devastated right now...lost my own dad when he was 54. Your dads memory will live on in the hearts and smiles of our memories of him. Ron was a very good man. He was the mail man at my job and he would sit and chat with me everyday I worked. I always looked forward to him coming in every day. My condolences to his family and friends during this very difficult and unexpected time. You will be very missed Ron

My heartfelt condolences go out to Ron's Family. I just heard about about his sudden passing today & I am shocked. Ronnie was my(& my family's) mail Carrier for many years. He was the ultimate mailman: always polite & so helpful. He'll be a very hard person to replace & he'll be missed by many people here in Highland! May you rest in peace.
