Rosemary O'Donnell Obituary

Uncasville - Rosemary Gertrude O'Donnell, "Mrs. O," (née Hildebrand) passed peacefully at home Sept. 21, 2025, at the age of 96. She was born in Marfa, Texas to Norville "Tex" Grant Hildebrand and Theresa Virginia Hildebrand (née Hepburn) Feb. 27, 1929.

She spent her youth in Baltimore, Md., where she trained as a nurse at Saint Joseph's Nursing School and met her husband of 57 years at a dance. Together they moved their family to Mystic and later Uncasville. Most of her career was spent at the naval hospital in Groton.

Rosemary was preceded in death by her sister Emma Vogle; as well as her husband Horace "Harry" O'Donnell. She leaves behind three daughters, Janet Duffie, Carolyn O'Donnell and Mary Salustri; as well as a grandson whom she loved as a son, Daniel O'Donnell. She was a devoted Grammie to her eight grandchildren and one great-grandson.

There will be a Celebration of Life in Mountain Lake Park, Md. The exact date is yet to be determined. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Nature Conservancy (www.nature.org). For a more detailed obituary please visit: https://www.directfuneralservicesabq.com/obits.
