Russell Fogg Obituary

Mystic - Russell Edwin Fogg, a resident of Pendleton Health and Rehabilitation Center in Mystic, passed peacefully on Monday, Aug. 3, 2015.

Russell attended local New Hampshire Schools, graduating from Portsmouth High School in 1949. He worked as an apprentice photographer for Kingsbury Studios while attending high school. He joined the U.S. Navy in 1950, serving as a photographer on an aircraft carrier out of Newport, R.I.

After his honorable discharge in 1955, he returned to work for Kingsbury Studios, which he was able to purchase in 1957. Russ ran it successfully for 30 years before retiring in Orlando, Fla.

Russell's passion for the water was only complete when he was on his 32' boat "Misty 3", which he shared with the love of his life Barbara Grant, who predeceased him.

Born to Earnest L. Fogg and Louise (Haigh) Fogg of Portsmouth, N.H., he is survived by one son, David Fogg of Newport, R.I.; three brothers, Robert and John Fogg of Groton and James Fogg of Waterford; plus three sisters, Elizabeth Kessler of Cape Cod, Mass., Helene Sobanski of Fitchville and June Thormahlen of Groton.

He is predeceased by one sister, Helen Hyde; and one brother, Richard Fogg.

A "celebration of life" will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 13, at Harvest Christian Fellowship, 5 Freedom Way, Niantic.
