Sheila Antley Obituary

Waterford - Sheila Susan Antley, of Waterford, passed away Oct. 17, 2024. She was born Dec. 29, 1971, in Milford, the daughter of Matt Pisani of Niantic and the late Susan Pisani.

Sheila was a generous, kind and caring soul. She had an amazing energy that would light up any room with her infectious laugh, that you would hear even if you were not in it. She was a good daughter and sister. She was a loving wife. She was the loud and outrageous aunt. Most of all, she was a proud and devoted mother. She loved Ryan and Hannah to the moon and back. Sheila enjoyed long days at the beach and spending time spoiling her two dogs. Sheila worked at Lawrence + Memorial Hospital for 26 years in the phlebotomy department. She made many life-long friends during that time.

In addition to her father, Sheila is survived by her husband Anthony Santangelo; children, Ryan Antley of Niantic, and Hannah Antley-Arevalo and her husband Cesar of Uncasville; stepdaughter Haylee Santangelo of Waterford; sister Nicole McCollum and her husband Richard; and her nephew Cameron McCollum, all of Niantic.

Calling hours will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 25, at Impellitteri-Malia Funeral Home, 84 Montauk Avenue, New London. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 26, at Langley's in Waterford. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Connecticut Humane Society.

When I think of Sheila, the words "kind" and "selfless " come to mind. Knowing her, was to love her. She brought the gift of joy with her. Many people never have the opportunity to know someone, nevermind to work daily with someone like Sheila. I consider having known her a "gift" that I was lucky enough to experience. My heart goes out to Hannah and Ryan who are an extension of her; as well as her husband Anthony who cherished her. Please know that we hold you and all who loved her up in our prayers, as we share your tremendous grief. Rest in peace sweet Sheila!

Heartfelt condolences to your family and friends on such a tragic and profound loss. Sheila and I were thick as thieves in middle and high school. There was always an adventure to be had and lots of laughter involved although I'm not sure who got who grounded more! Last time I visited home and we ran into each other, it was as if no time had passed at all leaving us in stitches recalling our youth. Even as I write this in sadness, there is a big smile thinking of all the great times we shared. Rest in peace my childhood friend.

I was so sorry to see this. I was friends with Sheila many years ago when I worked in L&M ER and we used to go out after work many times for drinks and to see local bands. Unfortunately we lost contact when I moved and started a new job. She went to my wedding in 2004. We remained Facebook friends. Rest in peace Shiela and my condolences to all of her family.
