Simeon Horwitz Obituary
Born in Hartford, June 7, 1930, he was the son of the late Samuel and Florence (Levin) Horwitz. Beloved father of Jon (Jane) Horwitz of Rye Brook, N.Y., and Stacy (William) Harris of Old Lyme. Loving stepfather of Richard (Debra) Epstein and Jill (Gary) Jones. Dear brother of the late Muriel Rosenberg. Cherished grandfather of Michael, Jeffrey, Harrison, Ethan, Aaron, Kate, Emily and Herbie. Also survived by four treasured great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Robert E. Shure Funeral Home, 543 George St., New Haven, with interment services to follow at the B'nai Jacob Memorial Park, 200 Wintergreen Ave., New Haven.
Memorial contributions may be sent to the Sandy & Munsey Horwitz Endowment Fund of Cong. B'nai Jacob, 75 Rimmon Road, Woodbridge, CT 06525, or Alzheimer's Association, 2075 Silas Deane Highway, Rocky Hill, CT 06067 (www.alz.org).
A period of mourning will be observed from 5 to 8 p.m. on Saturday at the Harris residence, 2 Sandalwood Lane, Old Lyme, and from 1 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. on Sunday at the Horwitz residence, 15 Sleepy Hollow Road, Rye Brook, N.Y.

Sandy was my mentor and I spent many days with him in NYC visiting with our costumers and friends. His knowledge of our business and his dealings with our customers was the best. I will miss him as a friend and teacher.
