Thinking of the Gordon family I went to Noank Baptist Church years ago and also remember him at Rossi Field watching his kids play ball. He played volleyball with my Step father as well. Always so kind to me.

I knew steve through the men´s volleyball league at cutler jr high. He invited me on to his team and we played many years together. He was a quiet person but could argue a point with the referee when needed. Please accept my condolences. May he rest in peace.

So glad we got to know Steve, such a kind and caring person. He was truly a gentle soul. We will always remember the nice times we shared with him and Pat in Groton and in Mystic. We still
admire his many interests including sports and bird watching. Whenever we hear an unusual bird we will be thinking about him. We will miss him and we send our deepest condolences.

What a proud legacy Steve leaves us. He was a genuine, decent man with a wry sense of humor . He was quick to turn a phrase, tell one liners, puns and always passing a smile on to others. He inspired us with his quick wit, honesty, love of family, nature and church. He was steadfast, working at General Dynamics for decades, a member of Noank Baptist Church and a birder all his life with an impressive life list. The times I spent with Steve in the Adirondacks are treasured. Early morning hikes to Ferd's Bog, our comedy of errors hiking Black Bear Mountain, kayaking the Raquette Outlet to the cascades, star qazing, UFOs are all special memories. The Adirondacks will always be linked with Steve. I admired him, he inspired me. I loved him dearly. Thank you for being a great brother in law.

Steve was always a delight. He and Pat were regulars at the restaurant where I work. He always had the best (and worst) jokes, and I loved bringing in pictures of birds I´d seen on walks for him to identify. He was an encyclopedia about birds! I will miss seeing this kind man who was always a bright part of my day.

Steve was a gentle soul. He was quiet and took in the world of nature as he loved to hear the birds singing. He was always ready to share his enthusiasm with others. He would wake up very early and take in as much nature and birds as he could and always inviting you to come along with him. He was a sweet man and a good parent and grandfather and we will miss him particularly in the Adirondacks

I was so happy to read acknowledgement of Steve's fine birding skills and the contribution to preserving the 305 acre Avery Farm which abuts the historic Lamb Farm. "Most mornings, Steve could be found walking Lambtown Road Ext adding to his lifelong bird lists. He was an avid bird watcher, participating in annual bird counts and providing a 30-year list of bird sightings along the Lambton property helping secure the area as a preserved land trust." In fact, he had identified 168 bird species of which 18 were rare State listed species - 6 Special Concern, 4 Threatened and 8 Endangered." He was an invaluable help in securing the State grant to preserve this special place so treasured by many. Thank you so much Steve.

We couldn't have asked for a better brother in law ! Reflecting on all the wonderful family times together. Holiday gatherings to sharing good times (for over 40 years) in the Adirondacks. How could we forget the nose flute birthday serenades ? So many loving memories, we could go on and on . We miss you terribly and love you dearly.

He was such an accomplished man but ever so humble. I loved his sense of humor(the nose flute) and how sentimental he was. He will be greatly missed by all of us who knew him. We were blessed to have known him. RPI dear Steve.❤
