He was born in Stafford Springs and was the son of the late Stephen J. and Bertha (Zegota) Waskiewicz. Steve was the beloved husband and soul mate of his wife, Sally Ann (Tozier) Waskiewicz. After serving in the US Marine Corps during the Vietnam Era, Steve headed to Groton where he became a rigger at EB for over 25 years. He excelled at his work and was proud in taking part in the building of submarines. Steve appreciated the simple beauty of nature and took great pleasure in being at the seaside. One of his favorite places to meditate and relax was gazing out at the sound from Eastern Point Beach. Steve was also exceptional at home improvement and took great pride in his home. He enjoyed gardening and got sheer pleasure in doing yard work with his wife Sally. What a team he would say to himself!
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Amy Waskiewicz; step daughter, Pamela Garcia; his four grandchildren; and nephew, Ryan Waskiewicz.
He was predeceased by a brother, Ronald D. Waskiewicz.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 6, 2008, at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, CT. Burial will follow in St. Edward Cemetery, Stafford Springs, CT. A calling hour will be held from 12 to 1 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home prior to the service.
For those who wish, in lieu of flowers, a Catholic Mass to be said in Steve's memory would be most appreciated.

Warm Summer Sun
Warm summer sun,
Shine kindly here,
Warm southern wind,
Blow softly here.
Green sod above,
Lie light, lie light.
Good night, dear heart,
Good night, good night.

Our deepest sympathy. Steve would always ask about the kids when he would call. We miss 4th of July at your house. He was always fixing something, even people sometimes. He will be missed.
