Susan Bindloss Obituary

Niantic – Susan Bindloss, 82, passed away peacefully Aug. 24, 2025, at Bride Brook Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.

Born April 8, 1943, in New London, to Ernest and Evelyn Bollenbach, Susan was a lifelong resident of Connecticut who dedicated her life to her family, her friendships, and her community. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband and high school sweetheart, Robert "Tom" Bindloss, who passed away far too soon fifty years ago; her parents; her brother, Ralph Bollenbach; and her sister, Linda Bollenbach.

Susan is survived by her loving children, Tiffany Williams and her husband Bruce, Gregory Bindloss, Jason Bindloss, and Darren Bindloss and his wife, Donna. She was a proud grandmother to Devin Williams, Darren Bindloss, and Jacob Bindloss; and cherished her great-granddaughter, Amelia Bindloss; and a brother Mark Bollenbach and his wife, Amy.

A talented florist for many years, Susan brought beauty and joy into countless lives through her work. She also loved painting, gardening, and crocheting, and there was hardly an art or craft she did not try-and ultimately master. An avid Red Sox fan, she delighted in cheering on her team through every season.

Susan shared a lifelong bond of friendship with her dear friend Judy Pope, and was a committed "friend of Bill's" for 37 years-an achievement that brought her strength, wisdom, and many cherished relationships.

She will be remembered for her warmth, resilience, creativity, and unwavering devotion to those she loved.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Susan's memory to Shriners Hospitals for Children or the Montville Animal Welfare Initiative, Inc., two causes close to her heart.

The family will receive relatives and friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 27, at the Thomas L. Neilan & Sons Funeral Home, 48 Grand St., Niantic. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, at Flanders Baptist Church, Boston Post Road, East Lyme, with interment to follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Broad Street, New London.
