Therese Marie Myette

Ledyard – Therese Marie Myette, 95, of Ledyard, passed away peacefully on the afternoon of Thursday, July 17, 2025. Her loving children surrounded Therese during her last precious moments.

Born Sept. 23, 1929, in Providence, Therese was the oldest of nine children. She married Emilien "Lefty" Myette March 2, 1957, in Providence. He passed away in 2013.

Therese leaves behind five children: Simone Yatto and her husband Richard, of Saint Augustine, Fla., Roger Myette of Ledyard, Edward Myette of Colchester, Denis Myette and his husband Larry, of Warwick, R.I., and Monique Myette- Keefe and her husband Robert, of Hanover, Pa.; four grandchildren: Eric, Amelia, Travis and Shamus; and six great-grandchildren.

Therese was affectionately known as Terry to her family and friends. Before getting married, she proudly worked for Speidel in the renowned historic jewelry district of Providence and later worked closely with Mr. Speidel in his pride possession Desitin Inc. She also loved playing basketball, was a member of a bowling league, and enjoyed organizing numerous work events. After she married, she and Emilien opened and operated a boutique gift shop. Afterwards, in 1962, they moved to Connecticut, where she made a beautiful life in Ledyard for more than 60 years full of love, laughter and unforgettable memories. Her greatest joys in life were her family.

Terry had tremendous faith in God and devotion to the Blessed Mother. She spent each day in prayer, which gave her immeasurable strength and comfort, especially in her last days.

Her family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 23, at the Mystic Funeral Home, Route 1 (51 Williams Ave.), Mystic. A funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 24, at St. Patrick Church, 32 East Main St., Mystic.
