My late husband, Kevin Brown MHS '74, was coached by Bill Sullivan while in high school. There were few people Kevin really looked up to and admired, Bill was one of the few. I heard countless Coach Sullivan stories over the years. My condolences to his family.

Bill exuded passion for his teaching but more for his kids. I loved being called to sub on of his classes. It was exciting to see what props were on his desk. He was so great to stop and talk.

I still talk about Mr. Sullivan to this day at the age of 41 as an example of what an educator can and should be. There are so many memories I have of him making learning fun and interactive. Our first day of class senior year he told us all to choose our seats as we came in. He then looked at us at the start of class and asked what we were doing. He said," I told you to choose your seats. Get comfortable, if you want to sit on a table or over by the window do it. Be safe, but don't just sit at a desk because you think you are supposed to." He was amazing and will be missed.

Bill played many roles in my life - neighbor, teacher, friend, snake saver. All of which were unforgettable. I have so many fond and vivid memories of him because whatever he did, he did with passion and character. He was and is a true legend.

Mr. Sullivan was incredible and one of a kind. He encouraged and supported me as a writer, a student, a human. My favorite memory of him is when he supported my group in the production of Casey's shake up, Mid Summer's Night Drag. I hope everyone can hold their own fun memories of him in their heart. Rest is peace, Mr. Sullivan.

Bill was a great neighbor. When my wife and I moved in 8 years ago Bill and Penny both made a point of saying hello. I loved catching him out on the porch and talking about whatever. He was such a likeable guy that my shy dog would try and follow him into the house. Bill always put a smile on my face and I'm going to miss talking to him.
