Velma Brown Obituary
She was born in Salem, Mass., on July 29, 1928, daughter of the late Edgar and Verne (Chute) Pitman. She was a healthcare worker at Eliza Huntington Home in Norwich for many years. She attended Leffingwell Baptist Church in Bozrah and enjoyed cross stitching.
Velma is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and John Purcell of Oakdale; grandchildren, Christina and Tim Milton of Norwich, David and Linda Purcell of Townsend, Mass., Kevin Purcell of Oakdale, and Brian Purcell and Tabitha Hall of Baltic.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2017, at The Leffingwell Baptist Church, Bozrah. Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery, Norwich.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Leffingwell Baptist Church, P.O. Box 250, Bozrah, CT 06334.
