She was born on Dec. 19, 1921 in Willimantic, the daughter of Charles and Anastacia Sobieski. She was raised in Montville.
She was the widow of Kenneth J. Sylvia Sr. He died in October 1995. They were married on June 21, 1941, in St. John Church in Uncasville.
Mrs. Sylvia was a former member of the New London American Legion, VFW and Eagles Auxiliaries.
She is survived by her sons, Kenneth J. Sylvia and his wife, Frances, of Uncasville and Robert J. Sylvia and his wife, Diane, of Ledyard; her sister, Ruth Krysiewicz and her special sister-in-law, Susan Sobieski, both of Uncasville; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday June 9th, at 11 a.m. in St. John Church, Maple Avenue, Uncasville. Burial will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery, Uncasville. There are no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of SE Conn., P.O. Box 902, Uncasville, CT 06382.
