Vincent Falconi Obituary
He was born Sept. 10, 1926, in New London, the son of the late Emilio and Rose (Fulton) Falconi. Mr. Falconi was raised in Groton and attended local schools and graduated from Fitch Senior High School. He was an Army veteran of World War II and was honorably discharged. He later graduated from Boston University in 1951 with a bachelor's degree in education. He was united in marriage to the former Joan (DeMarco) Falconi on July 31, 1971, Mrs. Falconi survives him.
Mr. Falconi was employed for 25 years for the State of CT as a correctional councilor retiring in 1976. He later worked as a substitute teacher at Waterford and Montville High Schools and Norwich Tech.
He is survived by a son, Richard Gaines and his wife, Melanie, of Uncasville; and a grandson, Robert Gaines.
He was predeceased by two siblings, Arthur Falconi and Ester Trowbridge.
His family will receive relatives and friends from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, at the Impellitteri-Malia Funeral Home, 84 Montauk Ave., New London, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at noon in St. Joseph Church. Interment in St. Mary Cemetery with military honors.
