Vincent Naccarato Obituary

Westerly, R.I. - Vincent J. Naccarato, Esq., passed away at L+M Hospital Thursday, Dec. 30, 2021, at the age of 80. He was the husband of the late Elizabeth "Betsey" (Mayock) Naccarato.

He is survived by his son James V. Naccarato and wife Darrelle of Jacksonville, Fla.; his daughter Courtney E. Serra and her husband Sylvester "Trace" C. of Westerly, R.I.; five grandchildren, Conor, Quinn, and Kelsi Naccarato, Jake and Addison Serra; his sister Virginia "Ginny" Miller and her husband Melvin of Bel Air, Md.; and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Born in Westerly, he was the beloved son of the late James and Flora Naccarato. He attended Westerly High School before continuing his education at Boston College and Boston University Law School. After being admitted to the bar in Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Rhode Island, he settled in Westerly where he was an attorney in private practice for over 50 years. He served as the Town Solicitor for Westerly in 1977 and was the legal counsel for the Dunn's Corners Fire District for over 40 years. He was appointed to the Board of Directors at Dime Bank in Norwich and served in this capacity for almost 10 years, retiring in 2013.

Vincent was a dedicated and well-respected attorney who enjoyed helping others and giving back to the community. He volunteered his time holding various board positions over his career, coaching Little League Baseball, was a Big Brother with the Big Brothers of Rhode Island, and one of founding members of the Paul E. Trombino Foundation in Westerly.

He was a true gentleman with a big heart and a wonderful sense of humor. An avid New England sports fan, he followed the Boston Celtics and New England Patriots, but his true passion was the Boston Red Sox. He is likely one of the few lifelong residents of Westerly, R.I., who didn't care much for our beaches or ocean, but instead you could find him at Winnapaug Golf Course where he was a member for several years.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the nurses, doctors, and staff at L+M Hospital in the ICU, CCU and 5th floor who took such amazing care of him these past few weeks. Your kindness and compassion will always be remembered.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 6, at Gaffney-Dolan Funeral Home, 59 Spruce Street, Westerly. Masks required to enter the building. Vin was a wonderful man whom I deeply respected. We also shared a similar sense of humor and I will always fondly remember the heartfelt laughing that ensued every time we saw eachother. Rest easy my friend...you are deeply missed.

I just found out yesterday that Vin passed in Dec 2021 and want to express my sympathies to his family. I met Vin in 1989 and our friendship and business relationship was very important to me and my family. Vin was a deeply kind man and full of humor and wisdom. I will always miss him and am sorry I didn't get to show my respect earlier.

Dear James, Courtney and family...
It is with a sad heart that I extend my deepest sympathy to you with your Dad's passing. Your Dad was a kind, caring man who brought compassion to his job when dealing with legal issues. He helped me several times over the years. He always had a smile when I would see him about town along with a hug and how are you doing....May he rest in peace and may you all hold close special memories you shared with him. He will live forever within your hearts.
With Deepest Sympathy,
Kathy

Naccarato Family,

I had the honor of know Vinny back when we played Little League Baseball. I was a few years older then Vinny but we went to WHS I was senior and he was a sophomore . I recall Vinny blocking one of my shots while playing volleyball, later in life when we met he reminded me of it. Vinny represented my Indian Tribe and helped to prepare our corporation papers. He also represented my family members in other legal matters. Rest in peace Vinny your time on mother earth was well spent.

Jim, Courtney and Naccarato family, my deepest sympathies on the passing of your dad. He was truly a wonderful man. In 1996, he took a chance on me and hired me as a legal secretary in his law firm, a chance that I will never forget. Throughout the years I worked there, I learned so much from him. He was not only my mentor and teacher, but a dear friend. I will never forget his wry sense of humor, or his patience with my many questions. I have so many fond memories of my time there. He will be missed dearly. Rest in peace, my friend.

To the Naccarato Family: I was deeply saddened of the news of the passing of your Father. I´d like to express my sincerest condolences to you(Courtney and Jim) and other Naccarato Relatives. I had the privilege and good fortune to had been associated with Vin, on both a professional basis and personal basis for 5 decades. He was an esteemed Attorney who also possessed an uncanny ability to make difficult issues become relatively easy solutions. For myself, I´ll be indebted to Vin for his guidance and friendship for these past many years. My thoughts and prayers are with Vin and you at this time. God Bless, Stephen McAndrew
