William Bond Obituary
He was the beloved son of Eileen Miller Jowett and William Bond. He was employed by the Public Works Department of the Town of Guilford. Prior to his employment, he proudly served as a member of the U.S. Marine Corps. Billy was a gifted athlete in baseball and hockey. He played hockey in high school and recently in the senior league. He was looking forward to coaching youth hockey. Billy was a 2008 graduate of Guilford High School and an avid fan of the Yankees, the New York Rangers, and the 49ers.
Billy dearly love his family and also leaves his brother, Quinn Bond, and his sisters, Peyton Jowett, Berkeley and McKinley Bond: as well as his stepfather, Douglas Jowett and stepmother, Roblyn Bond. In addition, he leaves his grandmothers, Gladys Bond, Margie Keane; and many cousins, aunts, and uncles, including Matthew Miller, who coached and loved him like a son.
He was predeceased by his grandparents, Carol and Raymond Miller and Louis Bond.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 14, at the Guilford Funeral Home, 115 Church St., Guilford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 15, in St. George Church, 33 Whitfield St., Guilford. Burial will follow in Westside Cemetery, Three Mile Course, Guilford.
Memorial donations in Billy's memory may be made "In memory of Bill Bond" to the Guilford High School Boys Hockey Club, c/o Kathy Petrick, 7 Caleb Drive, Guilford, CT 06437.
