Alyce Klein Obituary

Alyce Schoeneman Klein, 84, of Rancho Mirage, Calif., a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend to many, died at home July 17, 2013. Alyce was born October 17, 1928, in Gary, Indiana to Maurice and Gertrude Schoeneman. She was the middle child of three sisters. At age 15 Alyce moved to Springfield, Illinois. She attended and graduated from Springfield High School and then worked at Franklin Life Insurance. On June 4, 1950 Alyce married her beloved husband of 62 years, Raymond Klein. She spent her early married years devoted to raising her three children. Alyce spent many years wintering in Palm Springs, California until she and Raymond moved there permanently in 2003. She enjoyed volunteer work helping children to better their reading skills. She also enjoyed a very active social life. Alyce is survived by son and daughter-in-law; Philip Klein and Amy Juster, daughter and son-in-law; Dana Klein Kavy and Sol Kavy and daughter and son-in-law; Lisa Klein Gildar and Jack Gildar, grandchildren; Lynashley Gildar, Adam Gildar and Myles Carlin Klein and sister Beverly Bender. Funeral services were held at Forest Lawn Chapel, Cathedral City, Thursday, July 18, 2013. Alyce was predeceased by her husband H. Raymond Klein. Alyce was a supporter of the Jewish Family Services, Jewish Federation and the Anti-Defamation League. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Jewish Family Services
