Aubrey Ison Obituary

Aubrey H. Ison, 91, of Palm Desert, CA passed away on March 27, 2007. He was born in Spokane, WA on February 4, 1916. Aubrey came to California where he had many jobs in broadcasting including radio announcing, progressing to Manager of a radio station in Pasasdena, CA. Here, he made an arrangement with the Los Angeles Times to publish the station's program times and data. This led to an expansion of all the radio stations in the city and state. Offices were opened across the Country from the West Coast to New York. Later, Aubrey's thriving idea was bought and continues to this date but Aubrey had to sell owing to family illness. He is survived by his wife, Dinah Sheridan, a star in the British (and American) Theatrical Industry from 1936. She was the first actress to appear in a "live" Three-Act play on Britain's very early T.V. Her best-known film was "Genevieve", seen many times on T.C.M. Aubrey, in his spare time, was an avid ornthologist, travelling through Eastern Islands in search of rare birds. For recreation, he would browse through a dictionary in search of rare words. Aubrey was a great and amusing companion. He will be sorely missed.
