Betty Arlene Busby

Betty Arlene Busby (Mellen), 79, of Ridgecrest, CA (formerly of Indio, CA), born December 27, 1928 in Fredonia, KS, passed away Tuesday, April 8, 2008, at Ridgecrest Healthcare in Ridgecrest, CA after a short illness. She had resided in the Ridgecrest area the past four years. Betty is a long-time resident of the Coachella Valley having moved to Indio, CA in 1940 while a young girl. She attended Coachella Valley High before meeting and marrying her husband of 54 years, William (Bill) Busby. They raised four children in the valley. Betty was preceded in death by her husband, William Busby, and daughters, Cheryl Ann Busby and Cynthia Busby (Averette). She is survived by her daughter, Vickie Busby of Ridgecrest; daughter, Linda and her husband Richard Hahn of San Bernardino; son, Steven Busby and his wife Elaine of Ridgecrest; a sister, Dolores White of Indio; cousin, Lucille Routh of San Bernardino; 9 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Services will be held on Wednesday, April 16, 2008 at the FitzHenry Desert Chapel, 51-990 South Jackson Street, Coachella, CA with a viewing from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. and a gravesite service at 2:30 p.m.
