Bob Iger Obituary

Bob Iger

Bob was born in Brooklyn, New York on January 27, 1941 to Morris Iger and Jessie Patursky Iger. He passed away on August 26, 2016 in Rancho Mirage at the age of 75 due to complications from Alzheimer's disease. Bob was raised in New York, but later in life called Villa Park, Newport Beach, Rancho Mirage, Palm Desert and Idyllwild, California home. He is survived by his wife of 17 years Christine Iger, his brother Howard Iger of Bloomfield, CT, his children Todd Iger, Denise Iger, Heather Iger and Brad Iger, as well as his grandchildren Scott Iger, Grant Iger, Hannah Iger, Aubrey Schuster and Reed Schuster. Bob was commissioned by the Air Force at the age of 20 and flew in the Vietnam War. Bob earned a Bachelor's Degree in Economics and a Master's Degree in Econometrics from the State University of New York at Buffalo in 1967 and 1969, respectively. Throughout his life, Bob worked for ColorMax, Oxford First Co., Lar Holdings, Eventide Capital, Candle Corporation and Xerox, serving as a CEO or Senior VP in some cases. He was a college professor for several universities. After his eldest son graduated from college, the two enrolled in law school together and Bob obtained a degree and license to practice law in 1994. He did practice law for a short time, but eventually settled into the role as business consultant and political advocate for various entities for Iger & Associates, founded in 2003. Bob was an avid reader, accomplished poker player and an amazing athlete his entire life. He had an enormous love for all dogs. His children remember him as a strong man, with tremendous integrity and a witty sense of humor. A private service for the family is planned.
