Natalie Gronauer

La Quinta - Natalie Gronauer, 84, of La Quinta, CA, peacefully passed away at her home on Sunday, June 27, 2021.

Natalie was born to Michael and Ann Stasick in Toronto, Canada and received a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of Windsor. After graduation, Natalie moved to Chicago, IL where she met her husband Herb and they raised their 3 children in the northwest suburbs. She co-owned a gift shop, The Hen's Nest, in downtown Cary, of which she was very proud.

Twenty years later Natalie and Herb were on the move, relocating to Reno, NV, Independence, KS, Tulsa, OK and Marina Del Rey, CA, before finally settling down in La Quinta, CA, where they lived for over 30 years. Along the way she was President of a local chapter of Compassionate Friends, an organization for parents who have lost children. Natalie had many friends throughout the years whom she cherished. She worked over 20 years in the travel industry, her and her husband entertained and hosted many of Hollywood's elite. She was an avid reader and enjoyed her dogs.

Natalie was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Herb, who passed in 2017, her son Steven Paul Gronauer, who passed away in 1979, and her brother, Dr. Murray Stasick of Crowne Point, IN. She is survived by daughters Julie Binz of St. Louis, MO, Vickie Gronauer of La Quinta, CA, grandsons Ryan and Matthew Binz of St. Louis, MO, and niece Roxy Reynolds of Crowne Point, IN.

Natalie will forever be remembered for her elegance, class and kind heart. She will be laid to rest at Windridge Memorial Park in Cary, IL with her husband Herb and son Steven. Contributions can be made in her name to Compassionate Friends at Compassionatefriends.org.
