Barb, Tom and Tim: Bruce was a wonderful Father, Husband and Friend to many. He was a one-of-a-kind man who was honest and sincere. He will be missed. Our family is grateful for the years of friendship and memories that we shared. We had so many good times. We are glad we had the opportunity to know Bruce and have him be a part of our lives for so many years. Sending love, hugs and peace to your beautiful family. I was so saddened to see the obituary on Bruce, I remember many, many times enjoying a card game with you two, or just spending an evening together. You were special friends for so many years, Bruce will be missed by all who knew him.
Love you, my friend

Barbara, Tom, Tim and family, my wife Jann and I are saddened by this news. We have so many happy memories courtesy of the Altman family.
Working for Bruce was the highlight of my career in city government. We had a good team and we accomplished a lot, and had fun doing it.
So many pranks we played with each other! I could write a few pages and just hit the highlights.
Christmas caroling with Barb and Bruce was special, with Barb on the key board. Bruce and Tom playing basketball against another city team and Tom sinking a 3 point shot at the top of the arc, the ugliest 2 handed chest pass shot I've ever seen. I was astounded as Bruce runs by, gives me a wink and says "That's my boy" .

Oh, so many stories. so many memories.
I have been blessed to know and work for Bruce.
I will never forget him, and in remembering him, I always smile. What fun.

Barbara and family, so sorry to hear of Bruce"s passing. Bruce was a special person, a natural leader and the star quarterback for an exceptional city team. It was a privilege to work and learn from him. I am so sorry for your loss.

Dear Barbara and Tim and the rest of your family,
I was very saddened to read about Bruce's passing. As I recall, he was our first City Manager of Palm Desert. He was a great one, and an even nicer one. and got the City off to a wonderful start. I know he will be missed by many, many friends.

My deepest sympathies to Barbara, Tom, Tim, and the entire Altman family. Bruce was so special to so many people and he will be dearly missed. His passing is a loss to the entire Palm Desert community. Bruce was such a great leader and his mentoring on both a personal and professional level contributed, in no small measure, to the successes I have experienced. Bruce always made me feel that my achievements were his achievements and he will always hold a special place in my heart. His legacy is immeasurable and his influence can be seen throughout the City of Palm Desert. Thanks for everything Bruce. You were the best thing that ever happened to the City of Palm Desert.
