Bud Steiner Obituary

Bud (M. Howard) Steiner

Just 28 days after the love of his life, Margie, passed away, Bud (M. Howard) Steiner passed away peacefully in Rancho Mirage, California, on Dec. 4, 2014. Born March 7, 1924, in Pittsburgh to Julius and Sophia Steiner, Bud became a Corporal 1 Air Force Pilot, Bombardier in World War II and married Margy in 1945 in New York City. They raised two children, Micky of San Jose, California, and Jill Messenger (Michael) of Sacramento, California. In 1962, they moved to California where Bud worked in the hosiery business for over 50 years, ending his career with his own business. Upon retiring, they moved to Rancho Mirage where he loved the weather and the lifestyle. Bud enjoyed tennis, golf, volunteering, doing the crossword puzzles, traveling and spending time with friends and family. Bud will be remembered as a man who exuded his love of his family and friends and was a joy to all who knew him. Bud's family would like to deeply thank all the kind and loving people at Emeritus of Rancho Mirage and Stella and Amalia for caring so much and with such warmth for both Bud and Margie these past few years. A graveside service was held on December 14 where he was laid to rest next to his "Little Margie." The family requests that donations in Bud's memory be made to a charity of one's choosing.

I met Bud and Margie while the love of my life was at Emeritus. Tom Tramski was Bud's dinner partner for about 3 weeks. He so admired Bud and his knowledge and alertness and they talked about his life which Tom was so interested in. I would go each day and see Margie meet Bud for lunch and she was so darling and loving to Bud. They certainly had a beautiful life together andknow they together are resting in peace. My Tom passed away 8 months ago but Bud of course will always be remembered by the 2 guys sharing their stories. God Bless Bud and Margie.I too will always remember Bud with his great interest in a book I loaned him Lady in the Locker Room...story about the 1959 Dodgers...he was a SFO fan but so enjoyed my book. Sorry we didnt meet him during his "playing" days! Love you both.

I had the great pleasure of knowing Bud for the last 28 years. I loved him like a father, as his daughter, Jill and I have been friends since 1986. Bud was a very happy, positive, fun man with lots of great wisdom. Margie and Bud were soulmates and are now together again to live forever in eternity. I will miss both of them dearly and I will have a big smile on my face when I think of them.
