I LOVE YOU, GRANDPA!! LOVE, POOKIE! (YOUR POOKIE)!! Although technically Carl was my step-Grandpa, he was the ONLY Grandpa that I ever knew, and the one who raised me and was there with me throughout my whole life! My Mother's Father, Louis, passed away from colon cancer when my Mom was only 25 years old so unfortunately I never got to meet my real Grandfather on my Mother's side. That's when my Grandma married Carl Kaplan, and from then on he was there since the day I was born! My Father's Dad had also already passed away before I was born so I truly mean it when I say that Carl was the only Grandfather that I ever knew or met, whether he was blood or not. He was extremely close to my Dad... they were both in the Navy!! My other Grandfather, Louis, was in the Army! All the men in my family are such strong souls! He took such great care of my brother Vincent and I, and took us out for Baskin-Robbins ice cream multiple times a week, ALWAYS! :) He never called me Anya, to him I was Pookie! I love you SO MUCH GRANDPA! I miss you SO MUCH! I know you are resting up in heaven so peacefully with my Grandma, Marianne Kaplan. I love and miss you both SO VERY DEARLY! God bless you Grandpa and Grandma!! Love, POOKIE (ANYA)
