Damian Michael Gonzalez

Damian Michael Gonzalez, 30, of Indio, passed away October 9, 2016 as a result of complications from a bone marrow transplant. He suffered from Dyskeratosis Congenita with Avascular Necrosis. Damian was born June 14, 1986 in Indio. He attended Indio High School and graduated 4th in his class in 2004. He lettered in water polo and swimming and received an academic letter in English. After high school Damian attended UCSD and in 2008, one quarter shy of graduation, he had to take a leave from his studies due to his illness. In 2015, prior to leaving for his bone marrow transplant, he was able to complete his BA in Psychology.

Throughout high school and college Damian worked full-time at In-n-Out Burger. He was the highest level associate, level 7, and a member of the "All Star Team". He loved and cherished all the friendships he made at In-n-Out. Damian loved going fishing and taking road trips with his family. He also loved watching his two favorite teams, the Dallas Cowboys and the LA Clippers. He was a light to everyone he met and he will greatly be missed by everyone who knew him.

Damian is survived by his mother Carmen Gonzalez and brother Christopher; his step-father Ricardo Gonzales and step-siblings, Christian, Thomas and MaryRose. He also leaves his maternal grandparents Eloy and Mary Gonzalez; his Tias, Sonia (Wayne) and Laura (Luis), his Tio Jr. (Elizabeth), his cousins: Andre, Illiana, Julian, Nicholas, Darrian, Raelynn, Alexia, Miranda, Angela, Isabella, and Eloy III; as well as many friends he considered brothers.

A visitation will be from 8am to 11am Friday, October 21, 2016 at Forest Lawn in Indio. Following the visitation there will be a rosary said at Our Lady of Perpetual Help on Bliss in Indio at 11:30, with a Mass immediately following. Interment will follow at the Coachella Valley Cemetery with Forest Lawn Indio in charge of the arrangements.
