preceded in Death by his parents, his sisters Belle and Francis, brother Sam, and first wife Phyllis. David was raised in Seattle, WA where he graduated from Garfield High School. David worked at the Bremerton Naval Shipyard during WWII. His career spanned thirty five years in the Neon sign business where he was an executive at a Seattle firm. David Retired and moved to Rancho Mirage, CA where he stayed active in sports specifically skiing, golf, and tennis. David was a member of Glendale Golf and Country Club in Bellevue, WA where he was a past president. He was also a member of Mission Hills Country Club in Rancho Mirage, CA. David had many accomplishments in his life, which included past president of B'nai B'rith of Seattle, where he was also honored as man of the year for his contributions to charity. He was a Chief Barker and life time member of Variety Club of Seattle. One Passion that Dave had was putting together and wearing fine clothes and was voted one of the best dressed men is Seattle. David was a member of Temple De Hirsch-Seattle, WA and Temple Sinai-Palm Desert, CA.
David is survived by his wife and best friend of 52 years Barbara; Sons, Larry of Redmond WA; Jerry of Rancho Mirage, CA, Gary of Cathedral City, CA, Barry of Dana Point, CA, and daughter Terry Hoogstede of Bend, OR. There are also eight Grand Children and eight Great Grand Children.
The family would like to give special thanks to the medical attendants at Premier Care Center of Palm Springs, Wellington House where he resided for five months and special thanks to the VNA Hospice of the Inland Empire who took loving care of David and made sure that he was always comfortable. The Family asks that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association or to the VNA Hospice of the Inland Empire or a charity of your choice. A Memorial Service will be held at Temple Sinai, 73251 Hovley Lane West, Palm Desert on March 14, 2007 at 11:00.
