I just came across this obituary about Gary's passing in 2012. I did not know and would have written sooner. Gary and Ron and I were roommates in the mid-sixties. We had so many good times together, including dinners with fiends, parties and just staying home watching television. Gary was a dear friend and we shared many of our life experiences and secrets over the years. I met my partner, Kenny at that time and we moved on, but saw Gary occasionally over the years until he moved to the desert. He was one of the most kind, generous and caring men that I have met. He was a true friend to me at that time in my life. May God hold him in His hands for eternity...Tom Spangler

Gary was my second significant partner for close to 9-Years, he was my love, and very dear soul mate. I knew his Mother well, and my family, especially my Mother loved Gary so much. On one occasion when Gary bought a new Cadillac, he drove to my Mother's home and insisted that her and my Step-Father take a ride in it, and to bring along their credit card. They ended-up in Las Vegas and Had a Hell Of A Good Time. My Mother and Gary will have much enjoyment together in Heaven as they did in life. God Bless you Gary. I could go on and on but I do not need to, as you can tell Gary was much loved by many many many individuals throughout his life! Ron Smoley (Presently living in Chiang Mai, Thailand). So sorry I missed Gary's funeral! :( God Bless Him!!!

My Sympathy to Gary's family.I only knew his mother "Florence" Gary was my dear friend and mentor since 1976 working at Plume Hairdressers. I am the man I am today because of him. He taught me how to love and how to be a great hairdresser like himself.I will forever remember his kindness, love and patience. Michael, Columbus,Ohio
