Gloria Hayes Obituary

Gloria Anderson Hayes

Gloria Anderson Hayes, 84, passed away on May 9, 2021. Gloria was born in 1937 in Saint Paul Minnesota to parents Margaret and Edwin Anderson and graduated from Saint Paul Central High School. She studied at the University of Minnesota and subsequently began a long and successful career in the travel industry in the ticket office at Northwest Airlines. She moved to Denver, Colorado in 1972 and ultimately opened, owned, and operated three major travel tour companies where, among other things, she personally escorted tours throughout Europe, Central America, and Mexico. Gloria worked in the travel industry for over 20 years before moving to Desert Hot Springs, California where she then obtained her real estate license and transitioned to working in real estate as well as simultaneously working in management in the service industry. Gloria passed away surrounded by friends and her constant companion - a Bichon Frise she rescued named Daisy. Gloria was predeceased by her husband John Hayes, and her brothers Owen and Keith. She is survived by numerous friends, nieces, and nephews. She will be dearly missed by all. Services will be held at 1 p.m. on July 10, 2021 at Desert Hills Presbyterian Church in Yucca Valley. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Humane Society of the Desert.
