The Coachella Valley, the farming community & his dear family have lost the most sincere man I have ever known. Each day since we were notified we have thought & grieved over the loss of our dear friend Jack Vince. We have been honored with his presence for such a short time.
His word was his bond. A man of true love for his family & mankind. Jack will live on in his son's. A true reflection of a father's love.
Janet, Scott, Mark, Carl, Dolly & Carla, we are sincerely truly sorry.
We all miss Jack.

Happy Trails "Jack" & May God Bless
Until we meet again.

Jack will really be missed. I looked up to Jack for the way he treated Janet and what a great father he was to Scott and Mark. Jack was a spiritual giant!

Janet and Jack had just bought a new home and Dolly and Carl had just sold their home in Indian Wells. So Jack was taking the dining room chandelier from his mom and dad's house to install in his home. I said Jack "do you think we should turn off the power"? Jack said "no we're good"! About 10 seconds later, with Jack on the ladder and screw driver in hand, he started to unscrew the chandelier and that sucker made a loud pop and threw a huge spark. I bolted down the hallway to the master bedroom fearing for my life. I reluctantly returned to help Jack and he decided that turning off the power was a good idea. We finished the job and didn't burn down Carl and Dolly's house. I think that chandelier is centered down to a gnats eyebrow over Janet's 3,000 pound dining room table from the "home country".

We all loved Jack very much and I am very grateful that he was part of my life. He made a great impact in many lives and didn't even know it. Dolly, Carl, Carla, Janet, Mark and Scott we love you guys very much and we will see you soon.

Dear Vince Family and everyone at Golden State-

To the Vince Family,
I was shocked to hear of Jack's sudden passing. Having grown up a street over from the Vince's from 63-74, I got to know Jack and his sisters. I played on Jack's midget baseball team one summer and remember his winning attitude. He obviously carried that throughout his life. It was a beautiful service at Sacred Heart and my thoughts are with Janet and her son's, Tom Taylor, Jack's brother in law, Rudy Acosta, who shared his wonderful eulogy, Mr. & Mrs. Vince, Jack's sister Carla, whom I graduated with from Indio High. My thoughts and prayers are with the family

To the Vince family,

I only met Jack couple of years ago but I feel like I've lost a close friend. We shared many conversations on the phone getting to know our businesses and finally met each other at a restaurant in Indio with other members of your family and mine in December 2007. In April 2008 we spent two days sharing a booth at a craft beer trade show, of all things! Jack came to Boulder last fall and we shared a wonderful dinner with my wife, Cathey.
What sticks in my mind most about Jack was his enthusiasm and positive attitude and a big smile. I will miss him.

My wife and I send our sincere condolences to you in this difficult time.

Unfortunately, we couldn't be there with you for Jack's service as we have been out of the USA.
Sincerely,
David & Cathey Black

To all the Vince family.
Growing up in Indio I was fortunate enough to have lived across the street from Jack for several years and always enjoyed our meetings in the island running down the middle of the street. Jack and I took turns mowing and trimming the grass in the island. It was the best looking 110 feet on the block. Through high school it was always a pleasure to interact with Jack.He simply had a good attitude. Many years later I was fortunate enough to have been in the Lions Club with Jack and was honored by him when he appointed me "Lion of the Year" I have kept that plaque with me now for several years and am quite proud of it. I will now always think of Jack every time I see it. I am proud to have known him and look forward to the day when we meet again in the Big Island. I pray that all of your memories of Jack will comfort you and cheer you forever. I look forward to the day when we might by chance meet and be able to share our thoughts face to face.
All the best to you all!

Dolly & Carl, Thank you for blessing the world with an incredible person.
Janet, you are one lucky lady to have been able to experience such a profound love.
Scott & Mark the pride your father expressed for you was truly amazing.
Jack was without a doubt the most impressive person I have ever met and an amazing boss. Golden State Herbs will not be the same without him.

I was saddened to hear about the death of Jack. We have been doing business with Godden State Herbs for several years and Jack always saw to it that our orders arrived on time. I have made several visits to Golden State and so looked forward to spending several hours with Jack touring the various ranches and ending up at the country club for lunch. My heart goes out to Janet and the boys that he always spoke of so fondly.

We were so shocked when we heard the news about Jack. Words cannot describe the sadness that we feel, and the whole in our hearts will never be filled. David and I will miss Jack's smile. David especially will miss Jack's tips and encouragement on growing his own garden. Jack was his good friend and sometimes confidant as well as a brother-in-law. Nobody could ask for anything more. We loved Jack. God must have needed another angel because that is what Jack was.

Dear Vince family,
I am so sorry for your loss. I visited the farm several times and Jack and I travelled together in 2007 to Japan to visit customers. We had many wonderful conversations not only about business but about diabetes (I have a diabetic daughter) and life in general. He was a great person who I considered a friend and who I will miss. God be with you and with Jack as he begins his life in the next realm.

I only met Jack once - years ago. But I consider him a friend I will dearly miss. I talked with him probably twice a week when I ordered product. We established a professional rapport, and also a friendship as we talked about the spice industry and just what was going on in our lives. I am still stunned by his departure. I offer condolences both to the Vince family and his family at Golden State Herbs. He will be missed. Jeff @ Oregon Spice Company

Emma and I share the shock over the loss of Jack. I was driving to work on Monday and between Blythe and Indio. I had thought of Jack several times and I had the intention to call him when I got to work because we had not talked for some time. I regret now that when I arrived at the office I was distracted with work and did not make the call. Jack and I not only worked together but I always considered him a friend and he will be missed.

To the Family of Jack Vince, we are so sorry. Our family will certainly miss his presence this summer on our row at "Little Indio" in Oceanside. He always had a friendly goodmorning hello and was always so patient and kind to our kids running around at all hours of the day. It just won't be the same without him there reading or relaxing in front of his cabana. To Janet and his sons, you are in our thoughts and prayers. God Bless you all.
