James Phillip Tomassi

James Tomassi, 63, passed away on January 29, 2013 in Phoenix, Ariz. Jimmy was born in Chicago, Ill., and was the fourth child of eight children born to Marie Richardson and John Tomassi. Jimmy and his family moved to Southern California after his father passed away. After graduating from Palm Springs High School he was drafted into the Army, attending boot camp at Fort Ord in beautiful Monterey, Calif. After his discharge from the Army he moved back home to Palm Springs and raised a family and spent the majority of his life there. During the adventures in his later life he landed in Belfry, Mont., where he was able to enjoy the things he loved most; fishing, hunting, horseback riding and Belfry big city living. Jimmy, who once held title of Master Craftsman, was an accomplished upholsterer and was great working with his hands. He was an avid painter and very creative all throughout his life. He passed on his love for woodworking and art to all of his kids. He is survived by his loving and compassionate wife Janet, and his four children, five grandchildren, and six siblings. He was cremated and his ashes will be spread across Montana, something that he would appreciate. A memorial service will be held for him on Sunday February 17, 2013 in Desert Hot Springs at Mission Lakes Country Club. Jimmy went too soon and will be sorely missed by all that knew him.
