Hi Eric,
Maybe you will see this...I hope so...I was randomly thinking of my dad and came here. It was wonderful to read your message. We all miss him and to think someone from 35-40 years ago still thinks about him, made me emotional. I remember you, I remember Ziggy, I remember Marty...Hope you are doing well

Wow! I worked for Jim in the late 80´s with him and Ziggy and I believe a Mexican man but don´t remember his name. He employed me for several years driving, delivering his custom furniture works.. some of his work was amazing! This was my first actual job when I got my license. My name was Eric Sandoval maybe Janet will remember me.
I was just think of him and telling my wife how I meet so many celebrities because of Jim´s excellent work and his connections to famous clients.
Wow so sorry to find out he´s gone. He taught me a lot. A memory I´ll never forget I was 18 years old now I´m 57.
God be with you Jim..

Jimmy only became part of our lives since he married my sister less than 2 years ago, though our kids had gone to school together decades past. Jimmy and I did the DHS to Phx drive during the past year and he had a plethora of life experience stories for being only 63. His priorities now were pretty simple - wife, kids, grandkids, health... and some little ongoing project in the works! Unpretentious, outspoken, walked his own road and unapologetic about it...so similar to our dad as Janet says. No wonder she married him and i was so glad she had someone who was so obviously "all about her" I thank him for that. RIP Jimmy

Although I met Jimmy via Facebook and corresponded with him mostly through it, I did meet him in person last February (2012) and spent time together while I was visiting friends in the Palm Springs/Desert Hot Springs area.
Although he may have been misunderstood by some I found him to be an extremely personable and generous guy.
We spent time with friends enjoying a great Italian dinner as well as time at a local bar (he only drank seltzer or water) and generally just hanging out to BS while enjoying the beautiful scenery surrounding his home.
I was so looking forward to seeing him and Janet when I return again later this year. Yes..Jimmy Tomassi will be missed, even by someone who only recently got to know him.I only wish I could fly out and attend his Memorial Service this Sunday. I will be there in spirit though.
RIP Buddy.
