Jerry Roth Obituary
7/11/1935 - 2/24/2017
Jerry Anthony Roth, a long-time desert resident, passed away February 24, 2017, after a brief illness. He was 82. Jerry was born July 11, 1935 in International Falls, MN, to Edward Roth and Loretta Watt Roth. He spent his childhood in St. Paul, Minnesota. In 1958 Jerry gave up his dream of becoming a professional hockey player and headed west to Hollywood.
Once in California Jerry completed his education at U.S.C. and was a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. After college, his entire career was spent in the automobile industry. He owned two new car dealerships in Los Angeles before retiring to the desert in 1986. An avid golfer, Jerry managed to play one to two rounds of golf every week up until his death. Shooting his age was a milestone.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Lennon-Roth, his step-children, Jennefer Garcia and David Dawson and his daughter, Ryen Boyd and two grandsons Hayden and Hudson Boyd.
Jerry was an avid animal lover and was always rescuing dogs in need of a home. In lieu of flowers please send a donation to Save-a-Pet or the pet rescue of your choice in Jerry's honor. A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.

I worked for Jerry as a salesman in 1982. I was 17. He loved his little dog and was always dressed to the 9s when he came by the shop. We had some incredible times and I learned a lot about life from him. God bless his soul and my condolences to his next of kin

Just learned of Jerry's death. I sold cars for him at jerry Roth imports. I have so many stories about my year at his shop it would require writing a book. He was a rough customer. I remember him challenging an employee to a foot race in the alley behind the shop. He was winning but fell at the end and lost causing major lacerations to his palms and hands. He never gave up an inch in anything he did. Too many stories! Rest In Peace jerry.
