John Kauffman Obituary
John David Kauffman, 66, died Saturday at Manor Care in Palm Desert.
He was the son of Dr. and Mrs. Sidney and Lenore Kauffman (both deceased) of Beverly Hills, CA.
The beloved brother of Barbara Manlowe, Ellen Blasingame, Robert Kauffman, Phyllis Kenley, and Billy Kauffman, John also was a loving uncle, great uncle, and friend to many.
He graduated from Indiana University in 1976 with a BA in History,and was an avid baseball fan and history buff, able to speak for hours on these subjects to anyone who would listen.
A born-again Christian, John attended Ohav Shalom Messianic Congregation in Palm Springs, where he actively ministered to the homeless population and regularly led prayer during services. Additionally, he was the "Captain" of the Street Fair Booth that proclaimed Jesus as the True Jewish Rabbi Thursday nights on Palm Canyon.
He will be greatly missed for his high intellect, wry sense of humor, and sweet spirit that drew many souls to him.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, April 10th, (10 am) at Ohav Shalom.
