She was born September 3, 1922 in Ferndale, CA, to James and Lillie Tonini. She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Robert and Harry Tonini; and sister, Vera Sousa.
Josie attended The Little Red School House at Centerville and graduated from Ferndale High School in 1940. She played saxophone in the Ferndale High School Band.
Josie was a bookkeeper for Henderson and Kausen Chevrolet in Ferndale. She was a teller for Bank of America in Eureka, Palm Springs and Rancho Bernardo, CA.
At home, Josie enjoyed sewing and playing the piano by ear. She was a lifetime member of the Native Daughters of the Golden West Arcata Calif. Chapter.
Her greatest pleasure was spending time with her family. She was a dedicated and fun loving wife, mother and
grandmother. She will be truly missed and always remembered for her wonderful spirit!
Josie is survived by her cherished family: her husband of 57 years, Paul R. Pavlich of Palm Springs; daughter,
Susanne and son-in-law, Bert Campton of Eureka; daughter, Patricia and son-in-law, Stephen Hinkle and grandchildren, Vanessa, Branden, and Lillian Hinkle of Encinitas, CA.
Private family services and mass are under the direction of Sanders Mortuary in Eureka, CA.
Memorial donations may be made to The American Lung Association of California, 441 MacKay Drive, San Bernardino, CA 92408.
