Justin Brown Obituary

Justin Brown, 32, of La Quinta, California went to be with his Lord on December 21, 2014. Justin is survived by his parents, Greg and Nettie Brown; his children, Brock and Kailyn; his siblings, Kelly and Riley; and his grandparents, Flo Addis Miller, and Riley and Virgina Brown. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Gary Addis. Justin was born in El Paso Texas on May 11, 1982 and was the first child of Greg and Nettie Brown. He moved to the Valley with his Family in 1988 and graduated from La Quinta High School in 2000, where he played football and was honored as 1st Team All DVL and All CIF in 1999. Justin was a loving Father to Brock and Kailyn, his two "monkeys", and the two most important people to him in his life. Justin was a successful Realtor. He was a loving and attentive father and he passed his love for football on to his son Brock as the coach of the Friday Night Lights Cowboys. He was an assistant coach for several years for La Quinta High School Football where he touched the lives of many players. He was an avid ocean fisherman and he loved to hike the desert and our surrounding mountains. Justin was able to make any person he came in contact with laugh and feel comfortable. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and the many people he came in contact with throughout his life. A Celebration of Life Service is scheduled for 10:00 AM on January 3rd at Southwest Church in Indian Wells.

I knew Justin through video games, which I know sounds funny but he was a great friend. For a period of about 3 or 4 years (mid/late 2000s) we talked for hours at time almost daily (MSN messenger); gradually we lost touch. Every now and then I would send him a text (I still have his number in my phone) but would get no reply. Every now and then I would google him to see if he was still in La Quinta working real estate. We always had some great banter given his Cowboy fandom and I being a Giants fan. I had always hoped to make a road trip down to California to meet him. I almost did in the summer of 2013 (only had time to go as far south as Oregon).

For whatever reason, I googled him today and came across this devastating news. I will miss Justin, he's been in my thoughts a long time. He was a great friend and has often been in my thoughts over the years for all the great chats and banter we had. I'm very sad at that thought that I will never meet him as I had always hoped. I wish his family the best, he always talked lovingly about them.

I was shocked and deeply saddened to learn of Justin's passing just today when I went to him for help and advise regarding real estate. Justin was so wonderful, smart, thoughtful, detailed and professional with me over the years. I am so sorry for the loss to Justin's family and all who knew and loved him. Justin was my Real Estate Man in the valley and he did a great job!
