Karen Reynolds Obituary

Karen Marie was born in Livonia, Michigan to Harold Reynolds and Thelma Johnson and passed away in Palm Springs peacefully in her sleep on May 14, 2014. She had an exciting career as a flight attendant for United Airlines from 1964 to 2001, based out of LAX and SFO flying PAC MAC during the Vietnam War and Desert Storm. She met her Prince Charming "747 Captain John (Jack) Macdonald" while working for United traveling the world together. Jack preceded Karen in death in 2011 but left her with two handsome stepchildren, Lance and Lisa Macdonald of Los Angeles, sisters, brothers, nieces, nephews, and many loving four-legged creatures. Both Karen and Jack volunteered countless hours as Ambassadors for Guide Dogs of the Desert taking guide dogs to different locations throughout the United States. Karen served as president for the Board of Guide Dogs for many years, Animal Samaritans and Dusty Wings of the Desert raising thousands of dollars for these different charities. Their deep love for animals led them to adopt many retired guide dogs as foster parents. She had a giving spirit and a loving heart and will be missed by many. Karen's memorial will be at the Church of St. Paul, 125 W. El Alameda, Palm Springs, CA at 11:00 a.m. followed by a Celebration of Life at the home of Gayle Hodges, 1203 E. Buena Vista Drive, Palm Springs, on Oct. 24, 2014. Donations may be made to the following charities in her honor in lieu of flowers. Animals Samaritans, P.O. Box 513, Thousand Palms, CA 92276-0513; Dusty Wings of the Desert, P.O. Box 13993, Palm Desert, CA 92255; Guide Dogs of the Desert, P.O. Box 1692, Palm Springs, CA 92263

I did not know you but we are sisters in that we both flew for United at the same time. You seems like such a compassionate person and will be deeply missed by many.
