Kenneth Lewis Obituary

Kenneth Clarke Lewis

May 19, 1986 - July 9, 2012

Born in Santa Monica, Kenneth Lewis was raised in Palm Desert and La Quinta, California. Although Kenny walked through this world for only a brief time, he truly left a loving impact on everyone he met. Kenny saw beauty in everything - his family, friends, animals, nature, music, meditation, different cultures, college, computers, cigars, eating, guitar, and the German language. In Kenny's early years, he looked forward to vacations with his family and enjoyed 4th of July's in North Carolina, boating, waterskiing, fried clams, and lobster in New England, Theme Parks, Washington D.C., snowboarding in Big Bear, and whitewater rafting at the Kern River. Some of Kenneth's most proud achievements include the Riverside County Science Fair Gold Trophy Award, the President's Education Award for Outstanding Academic Achievement from President Bill Clinton, and his graduation speech at Horizon High School where he ranked number three in his class. Kenny continued to persevere during his last few years pursuing Karate lessons, and attending classes at The College of the Desert with a goal to obtain his Bachelor's degree. He was proud and honored to lead a Meditation group meeting every Monday night at Fellowship Hall in Palm Desert. A deep love for animals, Kenny was inspired to rescue his cat, Ginger from a local shelter because of her innocence and trust. Kenneth also told people how much he loved them. He told them often as if he knew that he was fitting a lifetime of "I love you," into twenty-six years. Somewhere from the depth of Kenny's soul, he wrote the lyrics to a song he named, "Hey You." The last lines read, "…look at those around you, use an eye and you'll be surprised what you see." Kenneth is survived by his mother, Julie Ann Clarke, Palm Desert; aunt, Wendy Clarke, La Quinta; great aunt, Cynthia Cuddeback, Beaumont; grandmother, Zillah Symonds, Arizona; father, Marc Lewis, Arizona; sisters, Marlene and Katie Lewis, Arizona; brother, Jason Lewis, Arizona; uncle, Bruce Feigenbaum, California; aunts, Diane Feigenbaum and Susan and David Munoz, Florida, cousins, Jessica Allen and Michael Snyder, Florida. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to: National Alliance on Mental Illness, PO Box 4015, Palm Desert, CA 92261

Dearest Kennethius, you are still so close in my heart; everyday I miss you. Life has never been the same on earth. Your spirit is ever so close. There are days when you are near. Pennies you leave in places that stop me in my tracks, always tails up! It's a reminder of Extra WIDE leggings :<) Spiders, bugs, roadrunners and especially hummingbirds that hover so close trying to speak - I call your name wishing that we could be at Okura or making fondue and Christmas cookies. You have been the biggest blessing in my life ever and please thank God for me until we meet at the bridge and I can tell him. Forever and eternity I will look for you to give you hugs in heaven. xoxoxox Antiethius and Buzzy too.

My dearest son Kenneth struggled to the end, he was the sweetest child, and a genius teenager, his life was cut so short, it is so painful to lose him at such a young age. I will love and miss him forever!
