Marcy Goetz

1931 - 2015

Marcy Goetz, age 84, passed away on December 17, 2015 in her home in Cathedral City, California. She was born on October 20, 1931 in Hays, Kansas, the beloved daughter of Henry and Mary Leiker. This past April 14th, Marcy celebrated 64 years of marriage to her devoted husband, Bernard. Marcy is survived by her spouse, 5 children, 7 grandchildren (predeceased by one) and 3 great grandchildren.

Marcy worked as a pharmacy clerk for 24 years, a position that suited her outgoing personality and sympathetic nature. Family and friends were Marcy's delight, and her vibrant personality and contagious smile lit up a room when she entered. Marcy was a devoted mother and wife, and enjoyed spending time with her family, often traveling with them. Her travels took her to Ireland, Hawaii, Mexico, Canada, the Caribbean and many locales in the United States. Beginning in 1978, Marcy and Bernie began the tradition of renting beach houses in Laguna Beach every summer for 15 years, and those houses were always full of family and friends and celebration, truly special times. Marcy enjoyed lively conversation, Sunday morning brunch, movies, the theatre, and most of all, family. Marcy's lively spirit, sense of humor, and enthusiasm for life will be missed by all who knew her.

A mass in her honor will be held on January 9th at 10:00 a.m. at Saint Louis Catholic Church in Cathedral City, California, followed by a brief ceremony at 11:30 a.m. at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Cathedral City.
