Misty Martinez Obituary
Misty Louanne Martinez, 41, of Indio, California, died peacefully in her sleep Oct. 5, 2014, in Coachella, California. She was born Nov. 28, 1972 to Harold Dunson and Brenda Sue Dunson in Indio. She married Luis F. Martinez on April 25, 1998, in Indio. She was a devoted member of Destiny Church. She loved hearing Rabbi Brian Bileci speak; it gave her such joy. She is survived by her husband Fernando Martinez of Coachella; daughter Brittnay Martinez of Coachella; daughter-in-law Eileen Herrera; sons James Bourbon of Indio, Zackary Martinez of Coachella, Brandon Martinez of Coachella and son-in-law Adrian Orosco of Coachella; sister Tammy Avery of Indio; brother-in-law Todd Avery of Indio; her parents, Brenda and Jim Dunson of Indio; and five grandchildren whom she cherished. Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. Oct. 11, 2014 followed by a 10:30 a.m. memorial service at Destiny Church in Indio.

Hello, my name is Audrey Cook... I didn't know Misty personally, but she was the niece of a good friend of mine, Brenda Dunson. Ever since I was a little girl, I always dreamed of being part of a whole family, not one that was full of division and subtraction. Apparently, Misty brought so much to those that she loved, that it is difficult for anyone to imagine their lives without her. That is the way we should all leave our mark on the world, as loving and exceptional people who have a giving and kind spirit. She will live on in the hearts and minds of those who love her.

Hearing about your passing broke my heart into pieces, Misty! You had been through so much and weathered the storm only to become an even stronger woman. Your such a great Daughter, Sister, Niece, Cousin, Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Easy going, Loving person!
Knowing your with our heavenly father, the Angels and our family, In a place of pure love, where you're not in any pain anymore. Is the only thing that gives me comfort, in not having you here with your family.

While I never knew Misty, I do know the impact she had on both Tammy and Todd. One does not leave such pain without first having loved deeply. I pray the family knows her time here is reflected in the lives she touched and those who loved her.
May they find peace in memories and know Misty is always and forever with and a part of them.
