I was very sorry to hear the loss of General Ngyen Cao Ky.
I served as a Patrol Dog Handler in South Viet Nam in 1968 and met him at the Ky Liquor Store In Norwalk California where I grew up. I enjoyed our brief discussion about Norwalk as we echoed thoughts about a different life during our childhood. I always wanted to talk more but never did, my loss. Please know that many American Gi's will Miss him.

I was born in 1964 and left Viet Nam in April 1975. I Dont know much about the Viet Nam war, when I was a kid I just know it a war South vs North, but I got no idea really what's going on. Now I am reading the history and get to know ex Priminester Nguyên Cao Ky, he made me proud. He the very few men in the South truly love his country. RIP Mr: Ky you will always be a hero in my heart.

My best memory of General Ky was the early morning of April 13, 1966. I was working on the flight line when we started receiving incoming mortar fire. As everyone headed for the bunkers, General Ky jumped in a A1-E and took off with mortars falling around him, to stop the attack. A brave man....rest in peace.

General Ky was a true Vietnamese patriot who worked tirelessly for the reconciliation among his fellow compatriots. He will always be remembered with respect and admiration in Vietnam as well as around the world.

He looks so cool with his topgun and he was the best leader in Vietnam. Very few leaders are like him who could fly F-4, transport air-plane and helicopter wo well.

Ky's book "Buddha's Child: My Fight to Save Vietnam" was the most fascinating autobiography I've ever read. I only regret that I will not get the chance to meet him. Hopefully he's buried someday in a free Vietnam.

My sincere condolences to the Cao Ky family. It is hard to lose someone close to us. I certainly know how you feel, having lost someone myself.
But please know that God does not forget our loved ones or us as we have to cope with this loss. We are encouraged to throw all our anxieties upon him because he cares for you".

I was in S. Vietnam 1966 - 1970 as a civilian. Of the Vietnamese leaders that came and went, Nhuyen Cal Ky impressed me as the best of them. Even at the time I thought it a mistake that he did not continue as leader of the country. The members of his family can be proud of their heritage.
