Norma Mercier Obituary

Norma Jean Mercier, 75, of Desert Hot Springs passed away on October 26, 2007. She was born in Ohio on August 15, 1932 to Harry and Dorothy Lantz. She married as a young bride on two occasions which ended in divorce. She left with her three children, Leanna Fawn Burton, Christopher Leonard Staley, and Melody Ann Jacobs. Norma met her soul mate while working with him. She was a career waitress and he was a professional bartender. After her divorce to her second husband, Jim, she never thought in a million years that her friend and fellow coworker would become her soul mate, so friendship blossomed into love and they married on November 2, 1969. Norma became Mrs. Alfred Mercier but he is and was known by his friends and family as "Pierre". Norma and Pierre moved to Desert Hot Springs in 1979. Norma is survived by her daughter, Melody Jacobs; son-in-law Craig Jacobs; brothers, Denny Lantz and Thomas Lantz; grandchildren, Jarod Farnsworth, Jennifer Judge, Allen Jacobs, and Pierrette Jacobs (Pierre's name sake); and great-grandson Cristopher Farnsworth. On behalf of my mother, I would like to take the time to thank Doctor Craig Rosenblum and his staff for doing everything they could to help make my mom's life more livable. She was quick witted and full of laughter and I am sure everyone will remember her in that way. I would like her family and friends to remember Norma and Pierre in their prayers on November 2, 2007 which would have been their 38th wedding anniversary. The time has come for which they have been reunited and will continue their path as one in their everlasting journey. For further information about Norma's memorial please contact Melody at 760-567-4225 or her granddaughter at 760-567-3225.

Aunt Norma, if there was ever anyone who could have the world laughing at a whim, it was you. Your sense of humor, which came so easily, will now be heard throughout the heavens. As you reunite with Uncle Pierre, scoot him aside and take the spotlight for a while. Your moment to shine was well deserved. As the two of you begin to share the rest of eternity together, may the sparkle in each of your eyes be a new star in the nightsky to light our paths as we continue our journey here on Earth. Burst into Heaven's Gates with a vengeance Aunt Norma, and let the Heavens know that "THE ENTERTAINMENT HAS NOW ARRIVED!!"

Til we meet again, God's Speed

Sis:
You will be missed by many of your family and friends. You left us for a much better life style without the pain and suffering. As we all know the Lord has received you with opens arms. As you walk and talk with Pierre and Mom give them both a hug and kiss for me. We will all be together some day, so keep them happy and laughing until we make that precious journey.

All our love,
Your brother and sister
Denny and Linda
