Paul Hasas, 38, passed away at his home on Tuesday, June 8, 2021. He was born in Romania in 1983, to Eugenia Hasas and Paul Hasas, Sr. He arrived in the Coachella Valley in 1992, where he attended Desert Hot Springs Elementary School, Desert Springs Middle School, Palm Springs High School, and College of the Desert. Paul also attended UC Davis in California and Allegheny College in Pennsylvania. Paul is survived by his mother, Eugenia, his father, Paul Sr., and his sister, Adela. He was preceded in death by several loving family members, who are surrounding him now.

Paul was a highly talented artist and graphic designer. He worked in graphic design for 18 years, primarily for the Palm Desert agency Graphtek, and later as a freelance artist for many local and national companies. Coachella Valley residents are guaranteed to have seen his work on local billboards, logos, websites, and other media around town. In his free time, Paul taught himself 3D modeling, illustration, how to play guitar, and how to speak Japanese. He also enjoyed learning about consciousness, the latest technologies, and outer space.

Paul had a great sense of humor and most people knew him for his fun attitude and jokes. He loved animals, enjoyed watching experimental movies and TV comedies, and playing virtual reality video games. He was highly curious, considerate, generous, and intelligent, and most people remember his very in-depth conversations. Most of all, he was incredibly sensitive, honest, and had a tremendously kind heart. We loved him much more than he knew, and we were incredibly lucky to have him in our lives.

A memorial service will be held inside the chapel at Forest Lawn on June 21, 2021, at 8:00 am, at 69855 Ramon Rd, Cathedral City, CA 92234. It will be followed by a short cemetery service across the street at Desert Memorial Park.
