Ricardo Fernandez Sánchez

Ricardo Fernandez Sánchez, 60, of Cathedral City, Calif., passed away October 26, 2012 in Rancho Mirage, Calif. He was born April 9, 1952, to Sebastian Sánchez, Sr. and Paz Fernandez in Manila, Philippines. He was a hotel sales manager for more than 20 years. He is survived by his partner, Dayle Sandusky of Cathedral City; daughter, Celine M. Sánchez of Palm Springs, Calif.; son, Marty (Clarizze) Sánchez of San Diego, Calif.; sister, Cons (Tonette) Guerrero; brother, Choncho (Tin-Tin) Sánchez; parents, Paz and Dr. Sebastian Sánchez, of Manila, Philippines; and 1 grandchild, Ysabel Manjon. A funeral mass will held November 2, 2012 at 10 am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Palm Desert, Calif., and a memorial service will be held on November 3, 2012 at 3 pm in the Ramon Chapel at Forest Lawn in Cathedral City. I am so shocked and saddened to hear that my dear friend, Ricky has gone -- much too young!

I have many happy memories of Ricky when we worked together at the hotel in San Pedro, CA, in the early 90's, where we had lots of stress and lots of fun. Ricky was a kind and gentle person, who took care of others in their times of need and loved to socialize and burst into song at any opportunity!! He and Mike Jones (who is also sadly no longer with us) regularly used to have me in stitches, laughing and joking after a hard day's work.

As I'm living in the UK at the moment, I will be unable to attend Ricky's memorial, but my deepest condolences go out to his family, whom I know he absolutely adored.

Ricky was one of the truly “good guys” who made the world a better place for all those who knew him.
