He was born April 25, 1926 in Los Angles to Otto Carl Blum and Helen Todd Blum
He graduated from Fairfax High School in Los Angeles in 1943. Following his discharge from the Air Force after World War II, he graduated from the USC school of pharmacy. Robert was a pharmacist with the Thrifty Drug Co for more than 40 years.
An avid reader, he was also had a passion for poker, gin rummy and crossword puzzles which he enjoyed even after suffering a stroke in 2003.
He is survived by partner and friend of 45 years Clement Lumley, a cousin Marjorie Larson of El Cajon, and William & Marybeth Darusmont of Orinda.
A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
